Earlier this month, representatives from the county, State Parks, State Sen. Sam Blakeslee’s office and one of the homeowners gathered to discuss a long-term solution to the problem. In an e-mail, Pirie said the county “is trying to help the homeowners and the state agencies reach an agreement.”
SANTA CRUZ — The county Planning Commission on Wednesday recommended approving an ordinance that would, for the first time, bring vacation rental homes under the scrutiny of county regulators.
Public hearing to consider an Ordinance adding new sections to Chapter 13.10 of the Santa Cruz County Code, adding a definition to Section 13.10.700-V of the Santa Cruz County Code, and adoption of a negative declaration as to the environmental effects of the proposed ordinance, all related to vacation rentals. Chapter 13.10 is a coastal implementing ordinance.
