CPOA-SC, COUNTY PLANNING DEPT.
The purpose of this email is to bring you up to date on the status of this project since the last Planning Commission public hearing on March 13, 2019.
There will not be a public hearing on the proposed coastal bluffs and beaches policy and code amendments on June 11th, 2019.
The overall project would amend various sections of the General Plan and Local Coastal Program and related sections of the County Code addressing public safety and hazard management. There are three parts of the project addressing (1) noise policies and related regulations, (2) airport land use compatibility planning, and (3) an update of the General Plan Safety Element including policies effecting coastal bluffs and beaches. The Planning Commission at a public hearing on March 13, 2019 recommended approval of the proposed amendments and CEQA Negative Declaration. On May 21 the Board of Supervisors scheduled a public hearing on the project for June 11, 2019 and directed the Clerk of the Board to publish a notice of the public hearing.

To review the deferral letter that will be on the Board of Supervisors agenda on June 11th, please go to the online agenda page here and click on the date of the meeting. Scroll down to the Land Use and Community Services section of the consent agenda and find the item (the title will begin with the word defer) and click on the link to the Board memo. The agenda will be published Thursday June 6th, and the weblinks will be active Friday June 7th. Thank you for your interest and input on this project.
