CPOA OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY
Dear Coastal Property Owners Association of Santa Cruz County Member,

Assemblyman Mark Stone, a former Coastal Commissioner and Santa Cruz County Supervisor, has introduced AB 1129. AB 1129, if passed into law, would essentially eliminate the right to seawalls for structures built after January 1, 1977. See SEC. 2 (b) at

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB1129

It would also allow the Coastal Commission to directly impose large civil penalties against anyone who has an unauthorized shoreline protective device on their property.

The bill has other negative features as well. It is critical that this bill be defeated.
