COASTAL RIGHTS COALITION
Dear Coastal Rights Coalition Member,

As you may know, late last week AB 1129 (Stone) was moved to the Assembly’s Inactive File when it did not have enough votes for passage on the Assembly Floor. While we are happy to see the bill moved to the Inactive File, this is only the first hurdle this legislation faced and we must remain very engaged with the Legislature and the Administration when it comes to the provisions that were included in AB 1129. Many legislators heard our calls and read our letters and understand the ramifications of AB 1129, but the Coastal Commission will not stop pushing this measure just because they failed to meet one deadline.

In the not to recent past, the Coastal Commission inserted previously-failed legislation into the Budget and it was passed and signed into law. We need to engage our Legislators and the Governor’s Office to make sure this doesn’t happen again. In order to do that, we need your help. If we are going to grow our outreach efforts and try to reach legislators both in the Capitol and in their home districts we must all continue to support this effort. This takes financial support from every coastal homeowner and property owner. Every little bit helps when it comes to trying to protect our coastal rights. Please click here to donate $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or other to our efforts. We can’t continue to fight this legislation without the generous support of our coalition members and in order to go on the offensive we must continue to make our case with legislators throughout the state.

If you’d like to know more about how to get more involved in the Coalition please respond directly to this email. We need calls to be made and our stories told if this legislation gains any new traction in the coming days, weeks and months. AB 1129 missing the deadline to get out of the State Assembly was only the first stop in this journey and we need the help of each and every one of our coalition members in order to keep this bill on the Assembly Inactive file.
Thank you in advance for all of your help and support. Please continue to help us protect our coastline.

Sincerely,

Eric Anderson
